Fours Worms And A Lesson
Posted by Nico Yan in Uncategorized Tuesday, 25 September 2007 22:09 No Comments
A minister decided that a visual demonstration would
add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.
Four worms were placed into four separate jars.
The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.
The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.
The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.
The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.
At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:
The first worm in alcohol – Dead.
The second worm in cigarette smoke – Dead
Third worm in chocolate syrup – Dead
Fourth worm in good clean soil – Alive.
So the Minister asked the congregation -
What can you learn from this demonstration?
Maxine was setting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said,
"As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won’t have worms!"
That pretty much ended the service –

Art Of Business: Business Loans
Posted by Nico Yan in Uncategorized Tuesday, 25 September 2007 21:52 No Comments
I know how to buy and sell been doing that since I was a kid, like I’ll buy someone’s homework for a snack then sell it to another one for more snack for me. And when I was in high school I usually buy some stuff at my neighborhood then sell it at school. Also I sell poems (yes I do poems) to those romantically in love.
Since then I know, in some way, how business is and how it runs. Now I’m 25, aside from working, I like to start a business. And to get started you need to be rich or use a business loan. But don’t pick a loan that gives you a large amount, usually they some hidden charges. First you need to researched, if they have some easy process offered for their customers. It’s important that you need to know these information. Second how fast funding will benefit you when you enroll to their service. The faster the better, the earlier you get business starting. Third how their great service affects you in the future engagements with them, because you get it started and doing pretty good, you need to expand.
These things I’ve been taught by people around, whether there are in the business or not. Researched is a good armament for your disposal, you just need to find it.

Microsoft: Windows XP Is Obsolete, Move to Vista Now!
Posted by Nico Yan in General Monday, 24 September 2007 16:01 No Comments
Is Windows Vista really superior to all predecessor Windows operating systems? Well Microsoft is beating the old drum of Vista as the most secure Windows platform available since the introduction of the operating system. But while end users would be inclined to choose another version of Windows as the top dog when it comes down to reliability, performance, driver compatibility and application support, Microsoft can only point to Windows Vista. And in the wake of announcements concerning the availability and contents of the first service pack for the operating system, Microsoft is pouring a consistent amount of efforts into convincing users, be them in the home or the corporate environments, to upgrade/migrate to Vista as soon as possible.
"When it comes to deploying a new OS (whether at the Data Centers or for the end users consumption) the IT Pros tend to take a more cautious ‘wait and see approach’. So the question begs, why should the new operating system from the software giant get any better treatment, is Windows Vista any better than its predecessors such as Windows 95, NT, 98, 2000, XP, in simple words the answer is a bold and resounding "HELL YEAH!!!" Migrations to the Windows Vista is inevitable for the enterprise across the globe, delaying the planning and testing the OS in limited manner would only cause substantial issues in the future and could also lead to user dissatisfaction," stated Omer Qureshi, Microsoft Technology Development Manager.
Well, if the "Wow" did not sell you, than "HELL YEAH!!!" will surely move you in the right direction. And to Vista of course. The Wow was good, but just a tad Sotto Voce and a little limp. "HELL YEAH!!!" is a different approach altogether. Can you imagine if Microsoft had gone with the "HELL YEAH!!!" $500 million marketing campaign? With a slogan such as "Windows Vista "HELL YEAH!!!"" That would have definitely sold well in excess of 60 million copies of Vista in the first six months of availability.
But "HELL YEAH!!!" can also fail. The potential of a failure is less monumental than that of the Wow, but… However, fear not, Qureshi has a back up solution. If a positive marketing campaign will not pursue users to move to Vista, Microsoft will scare you into upgrading. "Imagine that in 2008 and if you are running/supporting ancient OS like Windows 2000 (launched 8+ years ago) or XP (7+ years ago), OEMs and device manufacturers and ISVs or software vendors would continue to limit their support for these older OS and at the same time you would be missing out on all the great features and cost savings that Windows Vista has to offer," Qureshi added.
Relax… Breath in… Breath out… You are in your safe place. Now imagine that you are running Windows XP! Scared yet?
Well I must admit that Windows Vista is the next best thing in operating systems but it seems that it still lacks the charm to get buyers to buy it. Windows Vista requires that your computer must be a middle/high end class. I have a middle-end computer which I used to install Windows Vista but still I got this "2.0" score when I used Windows Vista to evaluate my hardware. I’ll wait till they release the Service Pack 2 for Vista. For now I’m gonna be using my Windows XP and MacOSX dual boot pc.

Backing Up Files Made Secure And Easy!! Online!!
Posted by Nico Yan in Uncategorized Friday, 21 September 2007 11:27 No Comments
Backing up files is one of the important tasks that one should do. No matter if it’s a hard copy or a soft copy, in paper or in computer readable format. I usually do 3 types of backup; one is on the hard disk, second is on a CD or DVD and third is on my webspace. But even if I put them to those medias, I’m still prone to data loss. Also I don’t have any access to them all the time. That’s why I use a fourth type of back, it is still using a webspace but with the security and all time access, even if I’m out of town and have an internet access. I use IBackup as my fourth alternative type of back and my second online backup system. They have a program so that you can just drag and drop your files unto their service. Also they have web folders so that if you have their program you can still access your files in a secure way.
IBackup is a secure, highly customizable online data storage, online backup, access and data sharing solution for consumers and businesses with several possible interfaces and options to backup/retrieve and manipulate your data. All IBackup applications have 128 bit SSL encryption as default option. IBackup has both browser based and downloadable applications for Windows, Linux/ Unix and Mac platforms.

Heroes!
Posted by Nico Yan in Uncategorized Friday, 21 September 2007 09:30 No Comments
I’ve been watching the new series titled "Heroes", and I’m fascinated on the powers of each cast. Since the "Supernatural" series is still under way and I have nothing to watch (aside from anime of course), I’ve acquired episode 1 to 20 of the "Heroes" series. After watching some episodes, I have learned that Peter’s power is acquiring powers from other special people. But how does he do it I still have to find out, but one thing for sure he doesn’t eat the brain of the person to get his/her power unlike Sylar.
